I doubt anyone would care enough to change its appearance, the color of the text on it, what it says (as long as it says "Enter" by default), etc. I may just suggest that you use more intuitive icons/replace the icons with actual words describing what you're pressing, making the interface more Android-like so it'd be more intuitive, and maybe get rid of some of the customization options For example, it would be much more convenient if you could just add an "Enter" button immediately, and if you really have to, be able to resize it. Other than a pretty funky interface it works pretty great.

Hi, I've noticed that you're the developer of the app. TL DR: is there any DOSBox port/frontend that achieves the simplicity that D-Fend/DBGL etc are able to achieve on a PC?

The ones that are available for free are really just direct ports, and crash often too.Īnd that goes without mentioning emulators and apps for other platforms, where they actually allow you to resize, add and remove virtual buttons, and often work right out of the box and either do or don't let you modify advanced settings if you really want, but that's not necessary because they've been optimized for mobile devices in the first place. I don't mind paying for any app, but when they're all basically a direct port of the FOSS desktop project with very little adjustments to make it mobile-compatible, it kind of misses the point of releasing it as a shiny new app. What also drives me nuts is that all of these mostly shoddy and unpolished ports of DOSBox charge you for money. There is one app that comes close, Magic DOSBox I think - but while it has great mouse emulation, it doesn't have a proper joystick, so any game other than Point&Click stuff are basically useless. Even the frontends for DOSBox on PC don't expect you to know DOS commands. Let alone my nephews, who barely know how to type on a physical keyboard. Seriously, I may have the technical know-how to type a few DOS commands, but this is one of the most widely spread operating systems of the 90s emulated on one of the most widely spread operating systems of the new millennium - my casual gaming cousins would never figure out how to operate the DOSBox Turbo + DOSBox Manager combo, even if they tried, even though they do like plenty of the games you could run on it.
